Hello, I'm Richard Sargeant...

Here's some background on how I've got this far...

I started my professional career after leaving university, working for a corporate estate agency business. I worked my way up from trainee, to becoming a senior sales manager.  After seven, successful years of working for that business, I decided to go it alone, and set my own estate agency.

 

1999-2006

 I co-founded my first business, "The Estate Agents", with a colleague, and over the next seven years built it into an estate agency business that had six midlands-based offices, a lettings division with a city centre office, a separate financial services business and property development business.  The business had a turnover in excess of £2 million pounds per year.  I sold my share of the business in 2006.

 

2006-2017

In 2006, I started a restaurant business called "Handmade Burger Co". I built the business from initial idea/concept to one restaurant in Birmingham and then into a national restaurant chain with 29 company owned locations throughout the UK, a team of over 850 and a turnover of £30 million.  The business was sold in 2017.

 

2012-2014

In 2012 I co-founded a pie and mash concept called "Urban Pie" which was a quick service restaurant business. It proved popular as customers loved the choice of freshly made pies along with mash, gravy and drinks. The business grew quickly and achieved well over £1.25 million in sales.  On the back of this strong performance, we expanded into several other locations in the UK before successfully selling it in 2014.

 

Present

I now work with entrepreneurs, founders and business owners, both in the UK and further afield. Whether it's developing a new business idea, supporting entrepreneurs with their start-ups, turning around existing businesses, improving profits, work on process, numbers or product development, raising investment, franchising, marketing strategy, team culture and development, or looking at ways to increase revenues and get more customers. I provide strategic support, mentoring, knowledge and know-how to enable quicker success for these business owners.
